Frequently asked questions.
What are the rates for counseling?
At Cocoon Counseling Services, we provide counseling for individuals, couples, families and groups. CCS charges $110 for an individual counseling session, couples and families are $125, and group rates are posted as needed.
Do you take insurance?
Current CCS does not accept insurance. We are listed as out of network providers for many insurance carriers which can significantly reduce the cost to you for sessions. CCS provides superbills and forms to submit to insurance so that you may be possibly reimbursed. Some insurance reimburse OON providers between 50%-90%, but it is imperative that you verify that with your plan before moving forward.
Why don’t you accept insurance?
That is a valid question, and one that we get asked frequently. At CCS we understand how challenging this can be financially as the rates for counseling can be significant. There are many layers to this valid question, that have come with time and experience, and the decision has not been reached lightly and without significant back-and-forth. The main reason CCS does not accept insurance is based on belief and our value system. We believe in a therapeutic model that does not center around diagnosis and disorders. If you have concerns or questions, please reach out and we would be happy to discuss this further.
What theory of therapy does CCS use for clients?
CCS doesn’t use just one theory. There are many counselors in the Treasure Valley who have trained and honed their skills in theories such as CBT, DBT, ACT, psychoanalysis, and many others. CCS uses a multifaceted approach to treating and working with clients called integration therapy. CCS uses a blend of ideas from IFS, somatic experiencing, systems theory, shadow work from Carl Jung’s work, art and creative expression, movement, play, breathwork, mindfulness, and many others. Our counselors believe in the value of looking at the whole person and their environment. Our counselors take into account factors such as sleep, nutrition, emotional, mental, spiritual, cultural, and physical health to determine a thorough picture of how to help.
